Credentials
A Delaware story
Dr. Morgan Morrow grew up in Delaware. After more than a decade of training in some of the country's most respected dental and pediatric programs, she returned home to dedicate her career to the children of the state where she was raised.
First Smile Pediatric Dentistry was founded on a simple commitment: every Delaware child deserves a calm, respectful, expertly trained pediatric dentist — including the children other practices struggle to treat.
The expertise behind every visit
Dr. Morrow completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, two of the most respected pediatric training programs in the country.
During her residency, she devoted significant clinical time to caring for children with special healthcare needs and conducted research on dental treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder — an area of expertise she continues to deepen in her practice today.
She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, DC, after completing her undergraduate degree in Global Health from the University of Southern California, where she served as captain of the women's soccer team for three years.
What "board certified" actually means for your child
Most parents don't know the difference between a general dentist who sees kids and a board certified pediatric dentist. The difference is meaningful.
After dental school, a board certified pediatric dentist completes an additional two-to-three-year hospital-based residency focused exclusively on the dental, behavioral, and developmental care of infants, children, teens, and patients with special healthcare needs. After residency, they undergo a rigorous examination process to be recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry — the field's highest credential.
For your child, that means a dentist whose entire training was built around them.
You don't have to explain again. Dr. Morrow already understands.
If your child has been turned away or rushed through somewhere else, please know that Dr. Morrow's clinical training was built specifically for children like yours. Her residency at the University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia included extensive clinical work with children on the autism spectrum, with sensory processing differences, with anxiety, and with complex medical histories.
Every child gets a plan built for them. That can mean a pre-visit tour. A quiet room. Weighted blankets, noise-reducing headphones, dimmed lights. Visual schedules. A parent in the chair. Multiple short visits before any treatment. Never restraint without consent and never as a first option.

Outside the office
Dr. Morrow lives in Delaware with her family. A former collegiate athlete and lifelong learner, she spends most of her time outside the office with the people she came home to be near — and chasing the kind of small, ordinary weekends she hopes her patients are growing up to remember.
She believes the right first dental visit can shape a child's relationship with healthcare for a lifetime. That belief is the practice she has built.
